ABOUT ALAIA

Hi, I’m Alaia—a therapeutic artist, musician, creative facilitator, and community builder.
My work lives at the meeting place of music, movement, mindfulness, and human connection. Whether I’m gathering musicians for Roots & Rhythm, guiding a Soul Meets Body experience, offering music in a healthcare setting, or helping someone discover their own voice, I’m interested in creating spaces where people can arrive as they are, breathe a little deeper, and feel more connected when they leave.
Music has always been one of the ways I understand the world. As a classically trained vocalist, pianist, and ukulele player with roots at Berklee College of Music and Naropa University, I’ve spent years exploring not only how music is performed, but how it can support belonging, expression, healing, and joy.
That exploration continues through Soul Meets Body, my evolving practice of meditation, intentional movement, sound, and embodied awareness. It also lives within Roots & Rhythm, where artists and community members gather to listen, share, experiment, and experience music together.
I see myself as both an artist and a facilitator: sometimes I am the one singing the song, and sometimes I am creating the conditions for someone else to find theirs. My work is open-hearted, grounded, and shaped by a belief that creativity belongs to everyone.
This season is about bringing the pieces together—body and soul, artistry and community, stillness and expression—and remembering that sometimes the way forward begins with a breath.
Guided by tide. Carried by song.
